Upgrade is a mechanic in Kirara Fantasia where a character from the character pool is enhanced to gain experience, levels, or even evolve, without having to undergo continuous combat for experience. Upgrade also allows a weapon from the weapon pool to be enhanced to gain experience, and even evolve, to give the character equipping the weapon more stats during a quest.

Upgrade NumbersEdit

Each enhancement item, whether for a character or a weapon, gives a certain amount of experience. Costs are increased depending on the level of the character or the weapon.

When upgrading a character weapon, there are chances where the experience gained are multiplied:

  • Getting a regular multiplier has a chance of 80%. This is represented with two (2) Kanji characters during the enhancement animation.
  • Getting a critical multiplier has a chance of 10%. This is represented with three (3) Kanji characters during the enhancement animation.
  • Getting an increased critical multiplier has a chance of 5%. This is represented with four (4) Kanji characters during the enhancement animation.

Character UpgradingEdit

Character Upgrades allow any character from the character pool to increase in levels, limit break, or evolve. A character can only be enhanced until its allowable maximum level. Limit breaking a character means increasing the character's level by five, as well as it's Last Resort (Totteoki) and Skill Level limit. A character can only be limit breaked four (4) times before evolution, and four (4) after evolution, for a total of (8) times. A 3* character cannot be evolved, and as such, can only be limit breaked four (4) times. A 4* or a 5* character can only be evolved after it has been a) limit breaked four (4) times and has b) attained maximum level. Evolving a 4* or a 5* character also increases the maximum level by ten (10). A 4* or a 5* character can only be evolved once.
